Essex County Council, in partnership with Chelmsford City Council and the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), successfully secured £218m of funding from the Government’s Housing and Infrastructure (HIF) fund together with contributions from other sources to deliver the wider scheme.
We are designing the new, three platform station to support the wider economic development of the area. It will provide additional access to the railway with regular connections to the capital and other destinations in the east of England, reducing pressure on existing stations at Chelmsford and Witham.

Public Engagement – Virtual Village Hall
In July 2020, Essex County Council revealed plans for the Chelmsford North East Bypass and Beaulieu station via a specially created ‘virtual village hall’. This is a web-based exhibition created specifically for the scheme and will run every day between 8am and 10pm until Friday 21 August 2020.
